Eric's Story

Eric is the Co-founder and CEO of BKA Wealth. Eric has worked in finance, treasury management, investment research and portfolio management since 1991 and has served in various leadership capacities during his 25+ year professional career. 


In addition, he has served as Austin Director for a West Texas investment adviser, as senior portfolio manager for Hester Capital Management, and as Research Director for two other Texas-based registered investment advisers (RIA's). He has extensive experience in security and financial analysis, portfolio strategy and management, business valuation, and private investments. 


Eric earned his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and his M.S. in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. Eric earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute, and previously earned the designations of Chartered Investment Counselor (CIC) and Certified Cash Manager (CCM). He is past President of the CFA Society of Austin.


Eric is also very active in his community. He currently serves on City Council for the City of Cedar Park (TX), having previously served as President of the Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation and as Chairman of the city's Planning & Zoning Commission. In addition, Eric serves on the boards of both the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) and Catholic Charities of Central Texas, and volunteers at the local Reveal Resource Center food pantry. He also serves as Treasurer and Investment Committee Chair for the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Austin, and is a senior member of the Investment Committee for the Ascension Seton Hospital Foundation (Seton Fund).  Other prior board affiliations include Austin-based LifeWorks and Communities in Schools of Central Texas. 


Eric has been married for 28 years and is the proud father to two children.
